Two men have been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a local teacher.
45-year-old Elizabeth Baune was stabbed multiple times in the head and the chest inside her Payette home in November of 2012.
Investigators said the Head Start teacher’s bank cards were stolen as well.
Michael Culley, who was the victim’s second cousin, and Jonathan Hernandez were arrested and charged several days after the crime.
Both men pleaded guilty in 2013.
Their sentencing hearing lasted two days, and included testimony from several of Baune’s family members.
On Thursday, the judge handed down life sentences for both men. They’ll be eligible for parole after 45 years.
Initial charges of grand theft and burglary were dropped as part of a plea deal.
