Meb Keflezighi Won The Boston Marathon While Wearing The Names of the Bombing Victims

Sometimes things end just the way you hope and dream that they would.  Sometimes terrible things happen but as part of the healing process something so amazing occurs that you are reminded that we live in an incredible and beautiful world.  That most people are wonderful and that things are actually really great.  That is how I would describe the Boston Marathon today.  One year after the bombing the sun was shining the air was sweet and Meb Keflezighi became the first American man to win the race in 31 years (1983).  The only thing that could have made the finish more perfect is if Marky Mark, Matt Damon, and Benjamin Franklin had all tied for first place.

Meb Bib Boston Marathon Victims

The names “Martin,” “Krystle,” “Sean,” and “Lingzi” were written in the corners of his runner’s bib.
The names stand for Krystle Campbell, Lu Lingzi and Martin Richard, who were killed in the bomb blasts that happened during last year’s race.
